Terms & Conditions

1.1. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the EngineFinders.co.uk website and its price comparison services (the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.2. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must cease using the Platform immediately.

1.3. Our Role: EngineFinders UK Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates solely as an intermediary platform. We facilitate connections between users ("you", "Buyer") and independent, third-party engine suppliers and garages ("Suppliers"). We are not a party to any contract formed between you and a Supplier. All transactions, agreements, warranties, and liabilities exist solely between you and the Supplier.

3.1. Nature of Service: We provide a price comparison and lead generation service. We do not:

• (a) Sell, supply, fit, or repair engines.
• (b) Handle or process payments between you and Suppliers.
• (c) Store, transport, or insure any engines.
• (d) Provide any warranties or guarantees on behalf of Suppliers.
• (e) Act as an agent for any Buyer or Supplier.

3.2. Supplier Network - "Vetted" Definition:
Our network consists of businesses that represent themselves as compliant, UK-based automotive traders. Our commercial onboarding process includes checks designed to confirm a Supplier is a genuine UK-registered company with a physical operational presence. This process is for our own commercial purposes only and does not constitute:

• An endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of a Supplier's reliability, financial status, technical competence, or quality of work.
• A verification of compliance with all applicable laws beyond basic company registration.
• An assumption of liability for any Supplier's acts, omissions, or representations.

The term "vetted" or "trusted" on our Platform must be understood strictly within this limited context.

3.3. Supplier Independence: Each Supplier operates its own business independently. We have no control over, and disclaim all liability for: the accuracy of Quotes; the quality, safety, or legality of engines supplied; the performance of repairs; or any Supplier's compliance with consumer protection laws.

3.4. Network Fluctuation: Any numerical representation of our supplier network (e.g., "450+ suppliers") is an approximate, real-time estimate for informational purposes only and is subject to change without notice.

4.1. You agree to use the Platform lawfully and only for its intended purpose. You must not:

• (a) Use automated systems (e.g., bots, scrapers) to extract data.
• (b) Copy, reproduce, or commercially exploit any Content without our express written permission.
• (c) Submit false, misleading, or inaccurate information.
• (d) Attempt to interfere with the Platform's security or functionality.

4.2. Breach of these usage rules may result in immediate termination of your access and may be reported to relevant authorities.

5.1. Accuracy: You warrant that all information you submit (e.g., vehicle registration, engine details) is accurate and complete. Inaccurate information will affect Quote validity and is your responsibility.

5.2. Mandatory Due Diligence: You understand and agree that engaging a Supplier is at your own risk. Before accepting any Quote or service, you must:

• (a) Verify the Supplier: Check the Supplier's credentials independently (e.g., via Companies House, online reviews, trade associations).
• (b) Read the Supplier's Terms: Obtain, read, and understand the Supplier's own terms of sale, warranty, and service before proceeding.
• (c) Clarify All Costs: Directly confirm with the Supplier the full breakdown of costs, including VAT, delivery, fitting, and any potential additional charges for ancillary parts or unforeseen repairs discovered during work.
• (d) Inspect Documentation: Request from the Supplier all relevant paperwork, warranty certificates, engine certifications, or images of the actual engine prior to purchase.

5.3. Post-Diagnosis Costs: You acknowledge that mechanical work may reveal additional faults. Any additional costs quoted by the Supplier for such work are a matter for direct negotiation between you and the Supplier. We are not responsible for these additional charges.

6.1. Quote Provision: We facilitate the transmission of Quotes from Suppliers. We are not liable for failures in delivery due to third-party email/SMS systems or internet issues.

6.2. Quote Validity & Control: All Quotes, their validity periods, and any conditions attached are set by the Supplier alone. We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any Quote.

6.3. Direct Engagement: All communication regarding a Quote, engine specification, warranty, payment, and delivery must be conducted directly between you and the Supplier. We are not a channel for such communications.

7.1. Our Intellectual Property: All Platform Content (except user-submitted content) is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

7.2. AI-Generated & Illustrative Imagery:

• Vehicle model images are AI-generated representations for illustrative purposes only and are not images of actual engines for sale.
• Engine diagrams, schematics, and generic photographs are sourced from public libraries or created for informational/educational purposes under principles of fair dealing.
• No image on this Platform constitutes a representation of a specific engine available for purchase. For images of the actual engine, you must request these directly from the Supplier.

7.3. Copyright Complaints: We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe any Content infringes your copyright, please contact us immediately at copyrights@enginefinders.co.uk with the information required under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. We will investigate and remove allegedly infringing content promptly.

7.4. Third-Party Links: Links to Supplier websites or other resources are provided for convenience. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for them.

8.1. Our processing of your Personal Data is governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, which form part of these Terms.

8.2. In line with our data retention policy and UK GDPR, we typically retain enquiry data for a maximum of 6 months unless a longer period is required for legitimate business or legal reasons.

8.3. Suppliers are independent data controllers for any Personal Data you share with them directly. You must review their privacy policies.

9.1. Platform Issues: For technical problems with the Platform or questions about your data, contact support@enginefinders.co.uk.

9.2. Supplier Disputes: Any complaint or dispute regarding a Quote, an engine, a repair, payment, or a Supplier's conduct must be addressed directly with the Supplier concerned. We are not a party to any such dispute and will not mediate, arbitrate, or participate in negotiations.

9.3. Fraud Prevention: Only engage with Suppliers using the official contact details provided through our Platform's secure system. Be wary of any payment requests that come outside this system. Report any suspicious contact purporting to be from us or a Supplier to support@enginefinders.co.uk immediately.

10.1. Subject to clause 10.2, we exclude all liability and responsibility to you (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise) for any loss or damage arising from:

• (a) Your use of, or reliance on, the Platform or any Content.
• (b) Any transaction or interaction with a Supplier.
• (c) The quality, fitness, or safety of any engine or service provided by a Supplier.
• (d) Any additional costs, delays, or losses arising from mechanical work.
• (e) Any indirect, consequential, or special loss, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunity.

10.2. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

• (a) Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
• (b) Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
• (c) Any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

10.3. Dispute Support: At our sole discretion, we may provide limited assistance (such as confirming a Supplier was on our Platform) in the event of a serious dispute. Such assistance is provided on a without-prejudice, goodwill basis and does not constitute acceptance of liability or an obligation to provide compensation.

11.1. Governing Law & Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by English law. You and we both agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11.2. Changes to Terms: We may revise these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will endeavour to notify registered users by email.

11.3. Severability: If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remainder will continue in full force and effect.

11.4. Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, and Image Use Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Platform.
